Karen Isaacs

Karen began violin at age eleven for the opportunity to play in the local string orchestra. Studying in the preparatory music program at DePaul University gave her a good music foundation. During her teen years, she soloed with the Metropolitan Youth Symphony and for the Chicago Chamber Orchestra’s Children’s concerts.

Karen has a music degree from Indiana University and played with Chicago Civic orchestra during college summers.  She is a member of the Lafayette Symphony, the first violin in the Lafayette Area String Quartet, and often performs at weddings, special events, and in area churches. Karen teaches violin lessons in Lafayette and Frankfort.

A member of the Cathedral of St. Mary’s in Lafayette, Karen often plays at the Sunday 11:30a Mass with the choir.  She was the violinist on the St. Boniface CD, Long Live the Pope, and on Christ In Me Arise, St. Tom’s third CD. Karen was also a featured soloist on a past St. Tom’s program with the Bach double concerto.
