Connie Sinz

As you probably know, many of RiteSong’s musicians are or have been associated with the 9:00a choir at St. Thomas Aquinas. For more than two decades, we have been blessed to have people sitting at the piano who were and are absolutely amazing — both as people and as pianists. When each of them was ready to graduate and/or to follow a job opportunity which would lead them away from us, by some happy coincidence (some might even suggest that God is watching out for us), another incredible pianist joined our choir at exactly the right time. Ted went away to college … and JP joined us. JP took a job as a music director … and Jerrod stepped up. And these are only the more recent of our stories! (Long-time St. Tom’s parishioners might remember both Rich and Joe, previous 9:00a pianists.) In the spring of 2014, knowing that Jerrod would be graduating from medical school by semester’s end, we were wondering how we’d get by without him.

And then Connie Sinz walked in. Connie, an accomplished pianist and vocalist, had played in the choir at parishes back home in Wisconsin throughout high school and college. After becoming a new teacher and basketball coach here in the Lafayette School Corporation, when Connie had been wanting to join a local choir, she found her way to St. Tom’s.

Thirty seconds into our seeing and hearing Connie play, one word came to mind: “Jackpot!” It’s as if we won the lottery. Again.

Connie has been the lead pianist in our 9:00a choir since the summer of 2014. We are very lucky to share music with her every week — and to welcome Connie to our RiteSong family as well.
